When I bought my Eclipse(57460mi), I had no idea of how cars operated. I started by reading almost every post of the Talon Digest archives. That is where I fist saw Juan and learned of the n/t board. After joining the 2gnt community, my knowledge base grew by leaps and bounds. I took very good care of my car until my first major setback when my tensioner pulley crapped out(124650mi)(yes, i had the timing belt changed at SATAN @70000mi). With the help of the board, I was able to do a 2nd timing belt change and get the car back on the road. Around October 2006(159550mi), I noticed that my compression numbers were on the low side, so I decided that it was a perfect time to rebuild from the bottom up.
Automotive experience strengths: Really none. I have always had an interest in taking things apart to see how they work, and most of the time putting them back together again. The same applies to my Eclipse. Whenever anything went wrong, I would try to identify the problem, search on 2GNT how to fix it, and then button her back up. The way I look at it, if I can pay someone to do it, then I should first try to take care of it myself and possibly learn something along the way. The one thing I can say without a doubt is that I wouldn't have half the knowledge I now posess in regards to my car without this community. Thank you to all who have submitted and to all who keep it going!
